A systematic approach to incident management

Collapse. Causes and treatment
Resuscitation procedures. Choking
Bleeding
External and internal bleeding. Shock

Day 2

Treatment of sprain and strains
Minor Fractures
Minor injury
Head Injury
Neck/Spinal Injury
Medical emergencies
Bites and Stings
Hypothermia/hyperthermia
Incident management scenarios
Remote improvised techniques including vehicle extraction tips
What do I do if I am remote?

Course participants will receive a practical first aid manual and a certificate valid for 3 years.

This is a 16 hours course approved by Qualification and Curriculum Authority (QCA). First Aid Academy works with ITC First Aid, which is a recognised Awarding Body, accredited by QCA that has approved to deliver Outdoor First Aid courses. QCA has accredited this course to the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) at Level 2.

HSE Provider Number 1670/96Trainers for these courses follow a nationally approved programme to deliver fun, interactive and relevant training for specific groups of workers.

* 'Outdoor Emergency First Aid and Incident Management for the Adventurists' has been organised by Team Gobi Desserts and will be taught by Cory Jones Associates/First Aid Academy. The Adventurists have provided their full cooperation in the launch of his event but would like to make it clear that they are not involved with the event's creation or organisation. Cory Jones Associates is approved by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), through IT, as a recognised First Aid provider as part of their First Aid Approvals & Monitoring Section (FAAMS). Approval number 1670/96.

± Course cost covers the group for the hire of a trainer/trainers and the hire of the venue. An estimated £4.29 booking fee is included within the £80 per person which will only be spent on unexpected costs for the day. In the event this money is not spent it will be donated in equal parts to the Christina Noble Children's Foundation and Mercy Corps.

2. Reservation only. This course is booked on a first come first serve basis. Spaces are limited. To help guarantee your place on the course please pay in full by 27 March 2009.
3. No cancellations will be refunded after 27 March 2009.
4. When the course is fully booked any further applications will go onto a reserve list, your cheque will not be cashed and Team Gobi Desserts will inform you if any space becomes available due to cancellations.
